Those who kindly took tags from the Project Love Giving Tree located in the lobby of the Sander’s Markets North East store are reminded that all donations of children’s unwrapped gifts, with their tags, should be returned Dec. 1 to either the Sander’s Markets customer service desk or the North East Area Chamber of Commerce.
Returning the gifts as soon as possible enables the Project Love folks to sort the gifts into boxes for each child. The boxes will be given to the parents and guardians of North East families who requested Project Love’s assistance. Each tag taken from the Giving Tree represents one local child, ages birth to 13 years, whose Christmas will be made brighter thanks to the community’s generosity.
If tags are taken from the Giving Tree and are not returned with donations of gifts by Dec. 1, then Project Love volunteers must quickly purchase age appropriate items before gifts are distributed on Dec. 8. Project Love strives to provide at least one item on each child’s wish list that was provided by a parent or guardian.
The distribution of hundreds of gift boxes for local families will occur on Dec. 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Project Love, which is located at 10093 W. Main Road in North East.
