Christmas in October Gift Card and Basket BINGO
Christmas in October Gift Card and Basket BINGO at North East Moose Lodge (East Main Road). Saturday, Oct. 12, from 1 to 4 p.m. Open to the public! Proceeds benefit children at Moose Heart. Kitchen opens at noon. Sponsored by NE Women of the Moose.
Coach Ted Miller documentary
The premiere of local documentary “Coach Ted Miller: How One Man Took the Boys and Girls from a Small Town in NW Pennsylvania and Made Them Champions” is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the Tom Ridge Room on the campus of Mercyhurst North East.
Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser
A Spaghetti & Meatball Dinner to support Teresa Burgess’s medical fund will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 1500 Freeport Road, on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Cost is a donation and takeout will be available.
Glass Recycling Pop-up event
Bayfront Glass LLC will host a pop-up glass collection event in Harborcreek at Faith Lutheran Church, 5414 E. Lake Road, on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Food- and beverage-grade glass will be accepted. Please remove all caps, lids and plastic inserts. The glass should be rinsed out as well.
All You Can Eat Breakfast
Ripley United Methodist Church will hold an All you Can Eat & Drink $7 Breakfast on Oct. 12 rom 7:30 to 11 a.m. The menu will include pancakes, sausage, bacon, made-to-order eggs, toast and more. All proceeds will benefit the Ripley Community Food Pantry.
Turkey Shoot Dates
North East Moose Lodge post 2568 has announced its Turkey Shoot dates. Shoots will take place Oct. 13, 20, 27 and Nov. 3, beginning at 10 a.m. Only shot guns may be used (12 GA., 16 GA. And 20 GA.). Only 14 people will be allowed on the line. Cost is $2.50 a shot. Breakfast will also be served from 8:30 to 11 a.m. on those days.
NASCAR Party
The 15th annual Kuhl Hose NASCAR Party will be on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019, from 2:30 to 6 p.m. at the St. Boniface Center on Route 8. Guests can come watch the Talladega 500 on a 17x11 video screen! Tickets are a $5 donation and can be picked up at Grape Vine Laundry & Linens, 2826 State St.; Doug Yaple’s Vacuum Cleaner Center, 1815 E. 38th St.; and Hammett Motors, 9199 Wattsburg Road. “A Dog’s Purpose”
The family movie “A Dog’s Purpose” will be shown at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 30 Clinton St., on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 2 p.m. This is a soulful and surprising story of a devoted dog who finds the meaning of life through the lives of the humans he teaches to laugh and love. There will be free snacks and refreshments. Everyone is invited!
Gold Rush
The Westfield-Mayville Rotary Club will host its fun Gold Rush event on Saturday, Oct. 19, at Eason Hall, 23 Elm St., in Westfield. Chiavetta’s BBQ buffet dinner of chicken, beef on weck, and much more is from 6 to 6:45 p.m. This is a BYOB, casual event. Program, 50/50, basket raffle, and reverse draw raffle for cash prizes up to $1,000 begin at 6:45 p.m. Raffle participants must be 18 years of age, and need not be present to win. Tickets are limited to 250, and should be purchased by Oct. 14 to reserve dinners. Cost is $30 per ticket. Gun Raffle
Harborcreek Little Gridders will hold an All 3 Henry Gun Raffle on Oct. 19. Tickets are $10. Call Craig at 384-6875 for tickets.
BINGO
On Oct. 20 there will be a bingo at the Harborcreek Moose Club to benefit SOS 4 KIDZ. Doors open at noon, play begins at 1 p.m. The event will feature a gift raffle, 50/50, rip off tickets and tip board. You do not need to be a Moose member to play. Soup Luncheon
Park United Methodist Church will hold a Soup Luncheon on Oct. 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the menu will include homemade vegetable beef soup, gelatin salad, bread, homemade dessert and beverages. Cost is $6 and take out will be available.
Free Community Dinner
A free community dinner will be held at Park United Methodist Church on Oct. 27 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Reservations with the church office are preferred but not required. To RSVP call 814-725-4105.
Trunk or Treat
Harborcreek First Presbyterian Church, 6724 Buffalo Road, will host Trunk or Treat on Halloween — Thursday, Oct. 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. Come join the fun in the church’s parking lot!
Clothing giveaway
The First Presbyterian Church of North East will host its second annual clothing giveaway on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A free soup lunch will also be served
Holiday Craft Show
The 32nd annual Holiday Craft Show at the Shrine Center, 2525 W. 28 St., Erie, will be held Nov. 2. Crafters are needed. For more information, call 873-7241 or 725-4329.
Rummage / Bake Sale
A Rummage and Bake Sale will be held Thursday, Nov. 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Park United Methodist Church. Bag Day will be Friday, Nov. 8, from 9 a.m. to noon. $1 per bag!
College/Career Fair
Harbor Creek High School will host a College/Career Fair on Nov. 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. The event will be held in the cafeteria and is free and open area high school students and their families. More than 90 representatives from four-year and two-year colleges, armed services, technical and trade schools, local employers and community support agencies have already registered!
Volunteers Needed
