Rummage / Bake Sale
A Rummage and Bake Sale will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at Park United Methodist Church. Today is $1 per bag!
Turkey BINGO
Greenfield Volunteer Fire Co. invited the community to Turkey Bingo on Nov. 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. Both events will be held at the fire station, 10160 Station Road. Doors and the kitchen open at 5 pm. and Bingo starts at 6 p.m. The kitchen will be open serving delicious, fresh cooked food, ice cold beverages and hot coffee! Bring the family and tell a friend!
Greenfield Turkey Shoots
Greenfield Volunteer Fire Co. will hold Turkey Shoots on Nov. 17 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the fire station, 10160 Station Road. Come support your local volunteer fire company! Bring your shotguns (12, 16 and 20 gauge) and we’ll provide the shells. Shots are $2 each. The kitchen will be open for breakfast and lunch, and free coffee will be provided.
North East Township Tax Collector office hours
North East Township Tax Collector Penny Luke’s office will be closed Monday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day. Thanks to all that have served!
Chicken & Biscuit Dinner
Olive Lodge 575 F & AM, 197 Park St., Sherman, N.Y., is hosting a Fall Chicken & Biscuit Dinner Monday, Nov. 11, from 4 p.m. until they sell out. Cost is $10 for adults and includes a meal and dessert. It’s $5 for children under 12. Meals will be served to go, but there will be seating available. Hydrant Flushing
Hydrant flushing in North East Borough will take place Nov. 10 and Nov. 11. Hydrant flushing in North East Township is slated for Nov. 10 through Nov. 12.
McTeacher Night
Come help the North East School District Move the Mountain in conjunction with McDonald’s. This year McTeacher Night, at the North East McDonald’s, is scheduled for Nov. 13 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Please come with canned goods and enjoy dinner with the community while raising money for Move the Mountain.
Designer Handbag Bingo
The North East Lions Club’s first-annual Designer Handbag Bingo will be held Nov. 16 at the Harborcreek Fire Hall. Doors open at 4 p.m. and Bingo starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are currently $25 and will increase to $35 after Nov. 2. Only 300 tickets will be sold. For more information call 814-881-3318 or 716-753-0598.
“Sip & Sample”
“Sip & Sample” flavors of fall at the Grape Discovery Center on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 1 to 4 p.m. The event will feature five wineries and five local restaurants and live music by Tim Bartlett. Presale tickets $12 and are available at www.grapediscoverycenter.com or by calling 716-326-2003. Tickets are $15 at the door day of the event. Cost includes all tastings and entertainment.
Senior Thanksgiving
Praise Cathedral Church of God invites everyone ages 55 and older to the Senior Thanksgiving Meal on Nov. 25 beginning at noon in the gym on the east side of the church. Doors open at 11:15 a.m. RSVP by calling 725-8767 or reserve your spot online at pccog.org.
Free Thanksgiving Day Dinner
Park United Methodist Church, 30 N. Lake St., will host a Free Thanksgiving Day Dinner on Thursday, Nov. 28, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Reservations are requested, but not required. Call the church office at 814-725-4105. Take-out and delivery will be available for the North East area.
Christmas Food Boxes
The North East Council of Churches is sponsoring North East Community Christmas Food Boxes. Monetary donations may be made to your local church or made payable to North East Clergy Council/Christmas Boxes and mailed to Anne Bardol, c/o Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross, 51 West Main Street, North East, PA 16428. To submit a name for someone to receive a Christmas food box, please contact your local church for an application. Persons submitting the name of a family to receive a box must give their name and telephone number as well as the person’s name they are submitting. All forms must be submitted to your local church by Monday, Dec. 2, or to the First Baptist Church by Wednesday, Dec. 4. For more information call 725-4698.
