Those who are looking for something to do and who would like to support a local nonprofit are invited to Project Love’s “Fun in the Sun” event on Sunday, Aug. 23, from 1 to 5 p.m. in the parking lot of 10093 West Main Road in North East.
The Rusty Wheel food truck will be on site for folks to purchase some refreshments. Those who attend have the option of a drive-thru experience, or they may park and get out of their vehicles. Please wear masks and practice social distancing.
Adults may buy chances for three different raffles in advance or during the event. Payment methods include cash or check payable to Project Love. Venmo app payment is an available method to those purchasing presale tickets now through Aug. 22, though not on the day of the event.
Winners need not be present, and they will be contacted after the event.
A raffle of 35 gift baskets with a wide assortment of themes and items will be held. These raffle chances are $5 for one sheet or $10 for three sheets.
Baskets will be displayed and folks can place their chances in the buckets for the baskets of their choosing. With the drive-thru option, people may remain in their vehicles, and Project Love volunteers will put purchased chances in the buckets for the desired baskets.
Presale basket raffle chances purchased by Aug. 22 will be randomly placed in the baskets’ containers.
There will be a 50/50 cash drawing. Also, there will be a Pennsylvania lottery tree filled with chances to win more money. Tickets for both the 50/50 raffle and the lottery tree raffle are $1 for 1 ticket; $5 for 10 tickets; and $10 for 25 tickets.
Presale tickets for all three of the raffles are available now through Aug. 22 by contacting any Project Love board member, emailing email@example.com, or leaving a message on the Project Love Facebook site, where photos of the gift baskets are posted.
Proceeds from this event will support Project Love’s main mission of assisting North East families who are having hardships by giving toys and gifts in December to their children from birth to 13 years old.
Project Love’s motto is ‘Keeping the Spirt of Christmas Alive, One Child at a Time.’
