The North East Arts Council is inviting people to paint rocks for the Hide and Seek Halloween event at the Headwaters Park Erie County Conservation District.
Interested participants can pick up rocks in a basket outside the arts council building’s back door in the public parking lot of Vine Street. There will be a basket with rocks and a basket for the completed rocks.
Feel free to paint your own rocks if you prefer.
The Rock rules are as follows:
• Acrylic paint or Sharpies only, please. Please do not glue items on the rocks as we do not want the wildlife to accidentally ingest them.
• Feel free to place a clear coat on the rocks, nail polish or a spray coating works well.
• Rocks can be dropped off at the arts council anytime on or before Oct. 20.
• Halloween-themed rocks are preferred for the event.
For those interested in rock hunting during the Halloween Rock Trail, it will take place Oct. 24, all day starting at 8 a.m.
