On Saturday, Sept. 5, the Little Pickers traveled to Corry for a match with the Beavers. Behind their four-headed monster of a running game, the Little Pickers brought home a 20-6 victory. Josh Banaag led the way with 100 yards and a touchdown, including a 42-yard opening play scamper.
Dillon Rodgers had over 65 yards and two touchdowns of 12 and 15 yards. Bryson Galloway completed a two-point conversion to JJ Wittman.
The Pickers defense once again held their ground, only giving up one big offensive play toward the end of the fourth quarter.
Defense was led by Aydon King and Johnny McGuigan in the D line and Galloway led the team in tackles at middle linebacker. Kaydyn Ayers forced a fumble in the third quarter that led to a recovery by Landyn Ayers.
Fifth quarter the Little Pickers didn’t slow down, with touchdowns by Noah Baker and JJ Wittman on a bad snap. Oliver Havens and Hayden Sperry also helped the Pickers’ run game. Blake Kemmet also had a fumble recovery in the fifth quarter.
The Little Pickers are on a bye this week and will resume play on Saturday, Sept. 19, at Summit Field versus Fort LeBoeuf.
