Vaccines against COVID-19 will be available Monday, May 3, at First Presbyterian Church of North East.
The clinic will run from 3 to 7 p.m. and shots will be administered by appointment only.
To make an appointment, call 814-266-6328 or enroll online at AHN.org/coronavirus/vaccine/schedule.
Pastor Gregg Townsend said he and his wife Jane Livingston reached out to AHN Saint Vincent Hospital to make the vaccine available in North East. A team arrived recently and mapped out a plan of action to be able to safely administer the vaccines for the community.
Townsend said the Assembly Room at the church will be used. Logistically and perhaps spiritually, it’s the perfect place.
“The Assembly Room is a place to do what Jesus does,” Townsend said. “It’s a place of fellowship, and where we gather to feed those in need, to fill Christmas boxes for children, or backpacks, collect clothing and supplies for them and nonperishable items for the food pantry.”
First Presbyterian Church, at 25 W. Main St., already has May 24 scheduled for the second dose of the vaccine to be administered for people.
