The leadership of the North East American Legion Lake Shore Post 105 is reaching out to the elderly population of North East.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the possibility of continued shut downs and disruption of everyday life, the Leadership of The North East American Legion Lake Shore Post 105 is launching operation veterans assisting local elderly or “VALE.”
The mission of Operation VALE is to provide or set up an in-home delivery service to elderly and disable residents of North East, who are homebound and are not able to get their basic necessities.
The Post is concerned that many of our elderly are not familiar with online shopping for their necessities.
We will work with you to setup an account so that you can take advantage of at home delivery or take your list and get your necessities for you.
The main focus is homebound and disabled elderly who do not have family locally to assist them. We are providing this service for free to all elderly and disable members of the community and do not need to be a member of the American Legion to receive help.
The Post is taking the lead on this initiative, but is also looking for help from the community for people or other organizations who are willing to assist the elderly. As we continue to serve our community, help is always appreciated. Please email Operation VALE at email@example.com for more information on how to support the community.
If you are homebound and disabled and need assistance, please do hesitate to call Post Commander Dean Taylor at 814-823-5437 or Post Adjutant Dominic Van Tassell at 814-460-9681 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org or message the Post on Facebook at American Legion Post #105 Family.
