Denise Pekelnicky is back to practicing law at her own office in North East after a five-year “break” doing transactional law with Erie Insurance.
The last five years, Pekelnicky was able to re-evaluate her goals, and knew she would be happiest running her own law office again.
“I believe every experience has something to gain from it and Erie Insurance provided me with great experience working in a larger company setting,” Pekelnicky said. “I learned a lot and was able to see another side of providing legal services that I enjoyed.”
During this time, Pekelnicky was also on a personal growth journey to prioritize her health and what she wanted for her future.
“As I took a look at my health, I realized in order to be mentally and physically well, I needed to make changes in my professional life,” Pekelnicky said. “I missed the interaction with clients and working in North East. This is a community my family and I love, and I want to support it any way I can.”
Pekelnicky opened her law office on Aug. 23, inside of Haynes House on the second floor. Her office is currently located in Room 213.
Haynes House is under renovation but businesses on the second floor are open and accessible to the public.
“I am excited to be part of the growing Haynes House Reimagined initiative by having my office here,” Pekelnicky said. “However, I am aware that I am on the second floor and not handicap accessible. I am willing to come to a client’s home or arrange an online consultation or meeting.”
Pekelnicky provides legal services for business transactions and formation; family law; DUI defense; criminal defense; real estate; estate planning (wills, POA, trusts); landlord/tenant matters; and employment law.
Pekelnicky takes her job seriously and approaches her clients with dedication, compassion and professionalism.
“I look forward to working in North East again and helping to provide quality legal services to the community and surrounding Erie County,” Pekelnicky said.
Her office hours are Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
