Local business owner of Grape Coast Property Management, Ben Feucht, recently expanded his business to become new owner of BC Auto Repair located at 10650 West E. Main St., North East.
Feucht officially became owner of BC Auto Repair on Oct. 1, 2020.
Previously, he was managing the service department since 2014 for his grandfather Dave Thornton. Feucht knew he wanted to take it over some day.
“I have been bugging him for years to sell me the business and after lots of hard work and determination, he did just that,” Feucht said. “He definitely wanted to make sure that I could handle a second business, but I learned from the best…him!”
“It has been an easy transition to see Ben move from manager to owner,” Thornton said. “I have enjoyed watching him grow into a successful business owner and I am proud of the work he’s put in.”
Currently, Feucht is still co-owner of Grape Coast Property Management with Jeremiah Pfadt and is keeping BC Auto up and running amid the pandemic.
“Balancing being the owner of two businesses in the middle of a pandemic has definitely been a challenge,” Feucht said. “It is extremely difficult to hire new employees, but we do our best. As a result, I have many late nights at the office keeping everything up to date but all that hard work is paying off.”
Feucht has made a few changes at BC Auto Repair including the new number, 814-347-5688, and a full-service detail shop.
Customers can call and request a Shine Club appointment which offers four levels of detailing:
• Shine Club Basic – exterior wash and wipe $12.
• Shine Club Plus – exterior wash and wipe, tire dressing, vacuum, clean windows, wipe down interior.
• Shine Club Premium – exterior wash and wipe, tire dressing, vacuum, clean windows, wipe down interior, 90-day fast wax.
• Shine Club Executive – exterior wash and wipe, tire dressing, polish wheels, vacuum, clean windows, wipe down interior, spot treat/shampoo carpets and seats, hand wax.
“Our detail shop is very busy because there really isn’t one in town,” Feucht said. “Appointments are preferred but not always required.”
As a young business owner, Feucht has noticed the impact the pandemic has on many local businesses and wants to urge people to shop local.
“There are many businesses changing hands here in North East, many of which are being taken over by second and third generations,” Feucht said. “As a result, many young business owners are right here in town. I think it’s fantastic to see businesses be strong enough to withstand the economic roller coaster, the pandemic, and just everyday life.
“My grandfather had this service department for over 50 years and I am proud to be the new owner, using everything that he taught me to continue operating one of the companies he started and it is right in our hometown.”
BC Auto Repair is a full-service auto repair and detail shop. It is a Pennsylvania State Inspection and Emissions station, a NAPA AutoCare garage and sell tires, brakes, oil changes, and any other car needs. Vehicle rentals are also available and can work with most insurance companies.
“Customers should choose BC Auto Repair for all of their auto service needs because we are a one stop shop. We can inspect, repair, and detail your vehicle, all in one visit,” Feucht said. “We operate on a “no pressure” mentality and don’t try to upsell on things that a customer doesn’t need like the big dealers do.”
