I am a resident of Bradenton, Fla., and play golf in two different golf leagues here in Manatee County from October through May.
From June through September, I am a member at North Hills Golf Club in Corry, Pa.
Ever since the COVID-19 outbreak has started very few golf courses here have closed. 90% of our golf courses are open. Almost every course uses very good precautions. You may have your own golf cart upon request, the pins are left in with a piece of Styrofoam in the cup for easy access to the ball. No rakes in sand traps, no water on the course, bring your own, pay with a credit card in the pro shop and stay six feet apart.
All of this has worked perfectly, no incidents what so ever.
To me it is absolutely ridiculous to ban golfers from courses, it would be like stopping bicyclist’s from the Peninsula.
There might be a riot here if they stopped golfers from golfing, and those politicians that promoted it might never be voted in again.
I am so glad that Pennsylvania finally made the decision to open golf courses.
If there are rules like the ones we have in Florida there should be no problems.
Thank you Governor Tom Wolf.
