Project Love is inviting the community to support its July toy drive for children. Beginning on July 1, in the lobby area of Sander’s Markets in North East, there will be an artificial Christmas tree with a display of tags. Each of the tags is marked “boy” or “girl” and an age is given. Please return new, unwrapped toys, board games and/or arts and crafts kits that are age appropriate with their tags to the Sander’s Markets customer service desk, or to Northern Lights Hydroponics at 10659 W. Main Road, in North East, by July 30.
Since all of the donated items will be given as Christmas gifts to North East children in December, Project Love is requesting that folks do not donate summer toys. Also, clothing donations are not being accepted, as other organizations will help with clothing needs.
Last year, 376 local children between birth and age 13 received boxes of age appropriate Christmas gifts. Project Love will once again distribute annual program applications to families starting in September through the North East School District.
Applications will also be available through the North East Area Chamber of Commerce and via an email request made to firstname.lastname@example.org.
