Spring has finally sprung!
With the recent rain, every plant is turning to lush green. The daffodils are waning and now cherry blossoms are in their prime. Our beautiful shade trees will grace the park and our streets and colorful summer blooms will follow.
Many visitors will be coming to North East for wine tours, a garden tour, festivals, sunsets, graduations and lakefront activities. The simple addition of landscaping can make all the difference to visitors. Studies verify that it welcomes people in, causes them to travel further, shop longer and even pay higher prices in locations that have aesthetically pleasing landscapes. Ornamental plantings can make guests feel less stressed and more at ease, which is a huge factor in increasing the total amount of time spent on the visit. Landscaping is an effective way to invite people, increase the total amount of time they spend with us, and keep them coming back to experience the positive environment they encounter in North East.
North East in Bloom thanks those businesses who have spruced up your surroundings to make it inviting, homeowners who put extra work into the front of their homes and were “bloomed,” and citizens who have contributed toward beautifying our town.
North East in Bloom encourages all of the community to help beautify the town — pick up litter, plant more flowers, make your space more inviting and promote community health through plants.
Soon, the group will be placing the flowers on the parking meters and enhancing some of the public spaces with new plantings.
