The National Alliance on Mental Illness and McCord Memorial Library will present mental health first aid training on July 27 and Aug. 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Mental health first aid is an eight-hour course that teaches participants how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders.
The training gives participants the skills they need to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis.
A certificate will be presented to participants upon completion. Everyone must attend both days.
