Premium books for the North East Community Fair (Sept. 19-21) are now available at the following local businesses: Burch’s Farm Market, Burch’s Fruit stand (Rt. 20 Harborcreek), Calico Patch Quilt Shop, Finnell Farms, Grape Country Market, McCord Library, Mobilia Fruit Farm/Arrowhead Wine Cellars, Meeder’s Restaurant (Ripley, NY), North East Chamber of Commerce, North East Fruit Growers, Orton’s Fruit Market, Presque Isle Wine Cellars, PIWC Isle House, Sanders’ Market, Stan’s Garden Center, Stetson’s Hardware, SuperStitch as well as Sanders’ Market and KC’s in Corry and Crosby’s in Lowville. Books will also be available at Klenz Farms and Nelson’s Fruit Stand when they open in July.
Entry categories and a few rules change from year to year, as well as important times and dates, are included, so be sure to read the new premium book.
The entire premium book and files for individual departments are available online at www.NorthEastCommunityFair.org. Information included in the fair book defines what items can be entered in the 2019 Fair and the rules for registering and placing those entries. In most cases, a single registration per individual allows for an unlimited number of entries including Major Contests (Dept. 22) held during the Fair.
For those who register early, the fair’s volunteers will have registration tags available before Fair week. However, the Fair Association strongly encourages entrants to register by mail or email before Sept. 4, to allow time for processing. For questions about registration, contact Gerri Ellsworth, registrar, at 814-725-5762. Registration forms are also available on the Fair’s website.
We have discovered a few errors and omissions in our printed Fair Book. Corrections have been made in the listings on our website (NorthEastCommunityFair.org). In all cases, the posted information regarding the Fair Book supersedes the printed book.
Home-produced wine and beer entries must be registered separately and will be judged on Friday, Aug. 23, 2019, at the North East Township Building. Registration for wine and beer entries must be completed by Monday, Aug. 19 and entries must be delivered to Presque Isle Wine Cellars, 9440 West Main Road, North East, Pa., by the close of business on that date. Registration forms for wine and beer are now available at Arrowhead Wine Cellars and Presque Isle Wine Cellars and may be downloaded from the Fair’s website (see above).
