The North East Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the North East News Journal, is pleased to present the 2020 North East Map. This collaborative effort now provides not only a wayfinding resource for the North East area, but also a guide to local Chamber Member businesses and their locations.
Please note that the listing of events in the map is no longer accurate due to the delay or cancellation of many events listed. Although this section is no longer accurate, the maps and local advertising continue to shine bright.
Our local businesses deserve our support now more than ever! Shopping locally has never been more important. According to the Small Business Saturday webpage, for every dollar spent at a small business in the U.S., approximately 67 cents stays in the local community.
To shop locally and stay safe while doing so, follow these tips:
1. Wear a face covering or mask while you are in the store. Some stores and localities may require it.
2. Carry your own wipes, or use one provided by the store to wipe down the handles of the shopping cart or basket. If you use reusable shopping bags, ensure they are cleaned or washed before each use.
3. Practice social distancing while shopping – keeping at least 6 feet between you, other shoppers, and store employees. Keep your hands away from your face.
4. Wash your hands with warm water and soap for at least 20 seconds when you return home and again after you put away your purchases.
As always, shop locally when you can – North East’s small businesses offer many of the groceries, supplies, and goods we need. Check the map for more information on where to find the goods and services you need! Questions? Email firstname.lastname@example.org.
