Pre-service teachers from Gannon University work under the direction of an education professor at Gannon University, with North East Elementary students before Christmas vacation.
The pre-service teachers are exploring lessons they developed themselves under the common core math standard.
The students were split into groups and rotated to each station that offered a new way to look at the lessons being taught.
“Hosting the Gannon University students from Dr. Still’s class was a win-win,” Principle, Dr. Jenny Ritter said.
“These future teachers have an opportunity to practice teaching the common core math standards to actual students and our students have an opportunity to see the standards presented in a variety of ways to help them learn the concept,” Ritter added.
