After much thought and consideration, Light Up North East has been canceled for 2020. Although the decorations downtown will still be lit on the evening of Saturday, Nov. 28, an organized event is not possible at this time.
Pandemic restrictions limit 250 people gathered in a space and this includes the park. “Unfortunately, because the event regularly draws over 500 people, we have had to make the decision to cancel for this year,” Katie Houpt, NE Chamber of Commerce communications manager, said. “The parade is also canceled, as we cannot risk crowds gathering close together at the street. If you have already signed up to participate, we apologize.
This is not a decision we wanted to make, and appreciate your understanding as we navigate the restrictions in place at this time.”
