Christmas Fest will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, on the corner of Robinson and Clinton streets, this Saturday, Dec. 14, from noon to 4 p.m.
In addition to the mostly free activities, there will be a gifts auction and a hot dog lunch. The gifts auction has many donations, including gift cards and items, from a wide variety of local businesses including restaurants such as Freeport, Rusty Wheel and Cheddar’s; stores such as Walmart and Sam’s Club; teams and attractions such as the Otters, Seawolves, Bayhawks and zoo passes. Church members have also donated some wonderful gift baskets.
The hot dog lunch will cost $3 and it includes a Smith’s hot dog, chips and a pop or water.
There will also be a number of free activities for children and adults. The free activities include hayrides, crafts for children to make, face painting, treat bags (while they last), Festival of Trees, piano music by Jamie Emerson, hot chocolate and cookies, a “bonfire” with marshmallows and children’s games. Outside activities will be weather permitting.
There will be a free door prize drawing, too. All you need to do is sign up for it.
There will also be a Giving Tree where you can select cold weather items if you need them or know someone who does.
Church members have been working hard to make this event the best one yet. Everyone is invited so bring your children and grandchildren for lots of fun for the whole family!
