The Erie BayHawks, NBA G League affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans, hosted its second Community Caravan of the season on Tuesday, Jan. 2, at North East High School.
The Skunk & Goat Tavern, located in North East, is sponsoring the event.
Each “Caravan” event included on-court contests and basketball activities that involve both BayHawks players, kids and fans, as well as entertainment from the team’s mascot, “Clutch” and giveaways.
At the conclusion, fans were able to get autographs and take photos with the players and coaching staff.
“It was a great success and it was so amazing to see all the smiling faces on the families,” said Anne Lewis, director of marketing for Red Letter Hospitality.
“We had about 350 people join us for the North East community event at the high school.”
Tickets were $10 and 100% of the proceeds went directly to the NE basketball program.
“Overall we are proud to say we were able to raise around $3,400 for the North East Athletics and hope to continue giving back to our community any way we can,” said Lewis.
